We are organizing to end carceral harm.
We examine carceral harm and analyze its associated policies using a Black Feminist lens. Taking collective action, writing essays, poetry, and op-eds, our collective voices highlight those policies that affect currently and formerly incarcerated individuals and their families. We partner with outside activists and find solutions to create safer and more accessible communities in New York State.
The Prisoners’ Agenda presents a five-point legislative agenda grounded in our lived experiences inside New York State prisons. These priorities aim to end carceral harm, restore dignity, and advance justice. Each issue represents a critical step toward a safer, more equitable New York for all.
The Faces of the Felony Murder Law Campaign is a monthly organizing space and public education initiative led by the Prisoners’ Brain Trust. At the heart of this campaign are the people—incarcerated New Yorkers whose lives have been permanently altered by one of the most unjust legal doctrines still on the books.
